Ellie June is Here!
Ellie was born on 11/17 at 8:19am weighing 7lbs 15oz and 19 inches long. She is currently in the NICU with a Pierre Robins Sequence diagnosis, and will most likely be requiring a jaw distraction surgery before she comes home, followed by a cleft palate surgery around 12 months and possibly a 3rd cleft palate surgery around 4/5 years old.
It was initially a scary turn of events after believing her initial PRS diagnosis had changed, but deep down I feel like I had always known that we weren't quite out of the woods.
At this point, I'm feeling great about everything. My girl is a fierce little thing, and although it's looking like some significant NICU time, I feel like we're going to be just fine once we get through the initial bumps in the road. Her PRS seems to be isolated, which means once the physical challenges are solved through surgery, she will be just a normal precious beautiful little baby.
I'm doing fine with recovery. I was up, on my feet and showered the same day of the surgery and although I'm sore I've been up and on my feet since day one and expect to be over the worst of it.
I appreciate any prayers you all would be willing to pray for my girl. I will update as I get more information.
Psalm 46:5 ❤️
